Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
Mochi Drop ("the Game") is a mobile puzzle game developed by Mark² (Mark Squared). This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
Information We Collect
Mochi Drop collects minimal data to provide and improve the game experience:
- Game data: Your settings and gameplay statistics are stored locally on your device.
- Leaderboard: When a game ends, your score is submitted automatically to our online leaderboard along with a nickname and a country code taken from your device's language settings. A nickname is generated for you on first launch (for example, "Mochi48213"); you can change it at any time in the game. Your nickname and score are visible to other players.
- Authentication: We use Firebase Authentication for anonymous sign-in. This creates a random identifier for your installation so that your leaderboard entry stays yours. It is not connected to any account, email address, or personal information.
- Account link (optional): If you sign in with Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS), that identifier is linked to your platform player so your items, achievements and records follow you across devices. We receive the platform's gamer name, which you may use as your leaderboard name; we do not receive your email or other profile details. A copy of your progress (item counts, achievements, statistics) is stored on our servers.
- Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the game is played — which screens are opened, how long a session lasts, how a run ends. These events are associated with the anonymous identifier described above.
- Crash reporting: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information, including your device model, operating system version, and what the app was doing when it failed.
- Advertising: We use Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob collects your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and interaction data, and may use your IP address to estimate your approximate location (such as your country or city) for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, or payment information.
- We do not require account creation or login.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or precise (GPS) location.
Your Choices
- Europe and the UK: Before any ad is loaded, we show a consent message where you can accept or refuse personalised advertising. Refusing does not prevent you from playing. If you refuse, analytics collection is switched off as well.
- iOS: iOS asks for your permission before the app may use your device's advertising identifier for tracking. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- United States: Residents of certain states can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising through the privacy message shown in the app.
- Nickname: You can change your leaderboard nickname at any time in the game.
Data Storage
Your settings and game progress are stored locally on your device. Your nickname, score, and country code are stored on Google Firebase servers under an anonymous identifier.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. If you allow personalised advertising, advertising identifiers and interaction data are shared with Google for advertising purposes; some US state laws treat this as a "sale" or "sharing", and you can opt out as described above.
Third-Party Services
Data Retention and Your Rights
Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Leaderboard entries are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Deleting your account and data: In the game, open Settings → Delete account & data. This removes your account, your progress copy and your leaderboard entries. If you have already uninstalled the app, use the account deletion request page. Uninstalling alone does not remove your leaderboard entry.
Children's Privacy
Mochi Drop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
